Tennis & Life Camps (TLC) is a non-profit organization that seeks to transform tennis and life through the Three Crowns • Positive Attitude • Full Effort • Good Sportsmanship .

We are organized for educational and charitable purposes under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. Through tax-deductible contributions, we are able to open our doors to all families.

Ways to Give

Online

 Gifts by credit card or made directly from your bank account go to work immediately. Click "Donate" today.

Pledge

 Give monthly, quarterly, or annually via check or automatic pledge payments. 

Stock

 Donating stock can give greater tax advantages than giving cash. Proceeds from stock sales can be directed to specific programs. 

Property

 Gifts of real estate and other tangible property can be remarkably flexible in serving the needs of the donors and Tennis & Life 

Matching Gifts

 Many employers and organizations make contributions to Gustavus as matching gifts. Find out if your company and/or spouse’s company will match your gift to Tennis & Life Camps. 

IRA Distributions

 If you are over age 70½, a direct transfer to Tennis & Life Camps can count toward your IRA’s required minimum distribution. 

Donor Advised Funds

 Contributions to a donor advised fund grow just like a mutual fund. Simply decide when, where, and how much you want to give from your DAF. 

Planned Giving

 A future gift from your estate is a wonderful way to show your support and appreciation for Tennis & Life Camps and its mission while accommodating your own personal, financial, and philanthropic goals. PLANNED GIVING

Include TLC in Your Forever Plan

A key goal of the campaign is that fifty households would arrange for Tennis & Life Camps to receive future gifts from their estates. This focus on securing future gifts from estates aims to build a sustainable financial foundation for Tennis & Life Camps, ensuring the organization can continue its mission for years to come.

 

There are a variety of ways that your household can join the 50 families committed to securing the future of Tennis & Life Camps. Many donors leverage one of these simple ways to make their legacy gift.

• List TLC as a beneficiary of your IRA or life insurance policy. You can update your beneficiary designations on your account’s online portal in a few minutes– no attorney required. 

• Make TLC the beneficiary of your Donor Advised Fund’s remainder. If your household uses a Donor Advised Fund to make charitable contributions, you can arrange for TLC to receive some or all of the assets that remain in the DAF after your lifetime.

• Include a provision for TLC in your Will and/or Revocable Living Trust. You can work with your estate planning attorney to make TLC “one of your children” in your Will or Trust (e.g. divide your estate evenly between your kids and TLC). Or, arrange for a percentage of your estate to support TLC. 

 

Including Tennis & Life Camps in your forever plans is a great way to make a major gift to the Let Love Serve campaign that costs you nothing today. You retain the ability to change or cancel your plans anytime, if your plans or your ability to give changes in the future.

Endowment Fund

GOAL: $1,000,000 While the other Endowed Funds in this campaign focus powerfully on our people—this dedicated fund is designed to underwrite general operational requirements of running TLC year after year. Though we remain proud of our history of maintaining a judicious and lean budget, a designated operating endowment guarantees that TLC can immediately address necessary and exciting upgrades. Imagine having the accessible, annual resources to transform TLC’s program: funding for programming and curriculum development, immediate equipment modernization, state-of-the-art audio/visual technology, computing power for robust digital engagement, and all the essential, yet often-overlooked, support necessary to run a world-class camp.Your gift will create a sturdy, permanent operational foundation for TLC, as reliable and fundamental as the courts where its campers learn and grow. A minimum gift of $50,000 is required to establish your own named fund. No minimum gift required to support the general Let Love Serve Forever Endowment.

COMMUNITY COACHES CAMPERSHIP
Endowment Fund

GOAL: $1,000,000 Your gift is a direct investment in the next generation of tennis leaders. We believe the unique experience offered by Tennis & Life Camps should be accessible to those who will pay it forward. This specific campership is designed to support individuals who are currently serving or plan to serve as a coach or assistant coach within a community, recreational program, or school district tennis program. By lowering the financial barrier for these coaches to participate in TLC, your generosity will help to spread the Three Crowns Philosophy far and wide! We envision that coaches who attend TLC will return to their own tennis programs equipped with new strategies for teaching and coaching young players—not just to improve their tennis skills, but to live more meaningful lives. A minimum gift of $25,000 is required to establish your own named fund. No minimum gift required to support the general Community Coaches Campership Endowment. 

TENNIS & LIFES CAMPS SCHOLARSHIP
Endowment Fund

Establishing and sustaining scholarships for campers remains a core commitment for Tennis & Life Camps—and while TLC is fortunate to have a solid number in place, you can help extend this transformative experience to more kid and family campers by supporting the TLC Scholarship Endowment Fund. The investment income generated from these endowed gifts is what ensures TLC can consistently offer access-emabling scholarships each year. A minimum gift of $25,000 is required to establish your own named scholarship endowment fund for Tennis & Life Camps. For donors who wish to contribute directly, there is no minimum required for an outright gift to the general TLC Scholarship Endowment.

OUTRIGHT GIVING

Facilities Upgrades
Swanson Tennis Center Renovation Fund

GOAL: $2,000,000 

Swanson Tennis Center—a revered part of the Steve and Barbara Wilkinson Complex—is poised for enhancement to fully support the world-class programs it hosts. To elevate this nationally recognized facility, we must secure resources for necessary additions, including modern, well-appointed restroom facilities, spacious, private locker rooms, professional, dedicated office spaces essential for accommodating our coaches and staff, and an extension of the elevated viewing deck. We invite significant outright gifts to invest in the immediate renovations needed to transform the Center ensuring the facility remains among the nation’s finest.

GIVING FAQs

  • Your donation will be used towards the area of greatest need at TLC, which may include current year scholarships, scholarship endowment fund, facilities maintenance, equipment donations, etc.

  • These funds will be available to students in the year they are donated. $715 will send one camper to TLC during the summer of 2020. $12,500 fully funds one of our winter retreat camps, and $6,250 funds half of a retreat camp.

  • The investment income from this fund goes toward providing scholarships to our campers each year. A gift of $25,000 allows for a named endowment fund for two scholarship campers to TLC per summer in perpetuity.
