Four former TLC staff members (and dear friends of mine) are teaming up to help provide access to TLC for players and families who would not normally be able to attend due to financial barriers. By running in this year’s Medtronic Twin Cities Marathon and 10-Mile, Team TLC is hoping to raise enough funds to provide scholarship opportunities to players during the 2018-2019 TLC season.
The USTA Northern’s Serving Up Love committee is providing matching donations for over $3600 for Team TLC, along with several other Community Tennis Associations.
Here’s where we need your help.
All funds donated through the MightyCause pages of these four runners will go directly toward TLC scholarships. Please click on their link to visit their page and learn more about why they are supporting TLC:
Ryan
Ryan Moore: Ryan is running to support TLC because as a youth player, he benefited from the low-cost programming at St. Paul Urban Tennis–one of our non-profit partners also funded by donations–and was lucky enough to attend Tennis and Life Camps as a teen. Read more about Ryan’s story and donate by clicking here.
Kirsten
Kirsten Hoaby: Kirsten is running to support TLC because she loved TLC so much as a camper that she had to work for TLC as a staff member. Read more about Kirsten’s story and donate by clicking here.
Bob
Bob Skenzich: Bob is running to support TLC because coming to TLC helped him to become more confident as a teacher and a person. Read more about Bob’s story and donate by clicking here.
Jenny
Jenny Paxton: Jenny is running to support TLC because she has directly seen the impact our programming has had on the lives of her players. Read more about Jenny’s story and donate by clicking here.
The Medtronic Twin Cities Marathon will be taking place over the weekend of October 5-7, 2018. We appreciate your support, and hope you can cheer on Team TLC and USTA Northern along the way!
